Dondero Orchards for the month of December   Recently updated !

Stop by to see our stand.  We have transformed into Santa’s satellite workshop.  We are all decorated for Christmas and we are putting together gifts for all of the good girls and boys out there!  We have a great selection of jams, pickles and pestos that are sure to please that hard to buy for person.  Let us arrange a gift basket to your liking with their favorite products.  We have many baskets already arranged to show you the different sizes priced out to fit your budget.  You can swap items in the basket to personalize it or we can complete recreate it to your selections.

All of our jams are low sugar recipes so you really taste the fruit and not the sweetness of sugar.  Some of our most popular Jams are Apple Pie, Blueberry Rhubarb, Fruit of the Farm (apples and all of the berries), Bumbleberry (all the berries), Raspberry Rhubarb and Traffic Jam (peach and all of the berries), but we have over 25 different flavors to choose from.  They are $5 each or 5 for $20!

Need some spice in your life? We have hot items like Not Yo Mommas pickled Cabbage, Hot Pepper Relish, Wicked Grass (spicy pickled asparagus) hot pickled peppers and that hard to find item, spicy pickled eggs!  All of our picked products are $8 ea or 3 for $20.  That includes all pints and quarts so you can mix and match.

We have preserved summer too!  Canned Peaches and Fireside Pears, Corn Relish, Dill Green Tomatoes and Dilly Beans. We have won awards from the CT Specialty Food Association for many of our products like Dill Pickles, Bread and Butter Pickles, Dilly Beans and our 3 main pestos: Arugula, Basil and Cilantro.

Our pesto is very popular and people stock up for the winter.  You can freeze and thaw the pesto as many times as you want and it won’t change the consistency.  All of our varieties are on display in our freezer: Arugula, Basil, Cilantro, Roasted Tomato, Roasted Pepper and Roasted HOT Pepper.  All are excellent to add to your favorite dishes like soup, stew, sauces, meat balls and meat loaf, mix with mayo for sandwiches, season a steak, fish or chicken, use on homemade pizza, or dress up your favorite pasta for a quick and delicious meal.

Has all of the running around left you with a rumble in your tummy?  We are making our Butternut Bisque for lunch this weekend.  As always we will be making our popular Honey Crisp Apple Fritters all weekend too!  Plus sandwiches and french fries and this time of year, there is no long line to wait in for all of these yummy treats!
