School is out! Welcome Summer!
Our farm stand and bakery are open every single day from 8 am to 7 pm. Be sure to wear a hat and sunscreen if you're headed out to the fields for pick your own.
PICK YOUR OWN - This is the season for raspberries, blueberries, peaches, summer apples and pears, plums, blackberries and cut your own flowers. We offer pick your own or get them already picked at our farm stand. Be sure to call our stand or get on our weekly e-mail list for exactly when these fruits and vegetables will be ripe and when the picking is at it's best.
OUR FARM STAND - We have native sweet corn, basil, tomatoes, egg plant, cucumbers, peppers and pickling cukes. We stock delicious Vermont maple syrup, CT made Hosmer soda, local honey, Superseedz (CT made, flavored pumpkin seeds) and local jumbo sized eggs. Don't forget we carry Hershey's Ice Cream with a pile of flavors to choose from, offered in cones, cups and milk shakes.
IN OUR BAKERY - Summer is all about home made pesto and salsa in our kitchen. Plus we keep busy baking a variety of pies, tea breads, cookies, breads, of course our apple cider donuts. Let us tempt you with samples of our award winning jams and pickles.
IN OUR GREENHOUSE - Our 7,200 s.f. greenhouse opens officially May 1st when our plants are bursting with color. At this point, we still have some beautiful geraniums, Martha Washington geraniums, sunflowers and zinnias coming into bloom. This rest of the greenhouse is filled with our young mums that are getting ready for the fall season. 100 % CEDAR MULCH by the bag! Natural and Brown colors. It costs $39 / yard, which is 9 bags. We offer delivery to all Glastonbury residents for only $10, with a 3 cubic yard minimum.
LOOKING FORWARD TO FALL -We grow many varieties of apples in the fall season, from the old fashion favorites to the most popular varieties available. They are Macintosh, Cortland, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Opalescent, Empire, Granny Smith, McCouns, Wolf River, Baldwin, Russet, Honey Crisp, Pink Lady, Fuji, Enterprise, Cameo, Ida Red and Rome. We also grow Bosc Pears, Bartlett Pears and Seckel Pears. Check out our suggestions for apples and their uses. In addition to our apple selection, we have mums, corn stalks, pumpkins (at great prices!), winter squash, turnips, gourds, home made candy apples and caramel apples, apple dumplings, apple crisp, and so much more from our kitchen! We have many weekend specials such as homemade Apple Fritters and Hand Cut French Fries!
Join our e-mail list to receive notes once a week to keep you updated on what is ready for pick-your-own and what's being prepared in our kitchen. During the growing season, we offer PYO strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, peaches, plums, apples and pears. Plus we can keep you up to date for when we open with our annuals and hanging baskets from our greenhouse and any specials we may be offering.
We attend many farmer's markets all around the state. Check out our different farmers' market locations so you can enjoy more CT Grown products. Most markets run from June to October, some open early in April and some go through the winter months only.
At Christmas time, we make wreaths, garland and cemetery boxes all by hand. Stop by to tag your Christmas tree any time after Thanksgiving. You can order Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday pies in-person or over the phone.
